World Kangaroo Day Ballarat Outreach

  • The Rotunda near Pipers Lake Wendouree, VIC, 3350 Australia (map)

In honour of World Kangaroo Day, dedicated Ballarat locals are coming together for a small, friendly outreach stall to celebrate kangaroos, bust myths and raise awareness about the challenges they face. This event is coordinated by Di Roberts and Fiona James, in partnership with Advocacy for a Kinder World.

WHEN: Sunday 20 October, 11am-1pm (you can just join for however long you can spare, any time is appreciated)

WHERE: By the rotunda near Pipers by the Lake, Lake Wendouree

WHAT TO BRING: Bottled water and weather appropriate clothing as the event will be outdoors. You may like to bring a folding chair and some snacks.

VIBE: This is a friendly day of information sharing not protest. There is no need to bring any signage and the aim is not to push flyers. Rather we will have a colourful stall and a welcoming attitude, where people can come to us and take a flyer or chat to us about kangaroos.

Whilst it is not essential for attendance, we strongly encourage you to check out our outreach training document and our Code of Conduct, and ideally sign the webform. All are within this link: https://forms.gle/dzAu5VdNWxPgT8fA7

We greatly value having our advocates signing on to the code of conduct so we all know what to expect from our fellow attendees.

These events are such a great opportunity to raise awareness, thank you so much
