World Kangaroo Day (24 October) is nearly upon us! Victorian Kangaroo Alliance, Animal Justice Party Victoria, and Save Kangaroos on Mornington Peninsula will be holding an outreach event in central Melbourne. We hope you can join us!
We will be holding a peaceful demonstration, holding signs and handing out flyers, to educate the public on the plight of kangaroos.
We know it’s tricky to attend mid-week events so we will greatly value your presence if you can make it!
**Please note, guardians are responsible for any children attending the event and, because of graphic signage, it may not be appropriate for little ones**
WHEN: Tuesday, 24 October, 11am-1pm
WHERE: State Library of Victoria, 328 Swanston St, Melbourne
GETTING THERE: The State Library is very accessible via public transport as it is just across the road from Melbourne Central Station. There are various other transport options listed here: https://www.slv.vic.gov.au/visit/getting-here
SIGNS: We will have signs and banners you can hold, but we always love handmade signs if you’re feeling arty!
ONLINE ACTION: If you can’t make it, please consider posting on social media about #worldkangarooday and the reality of kangaroo persecution, exploitation and dispossession. Please tag these politicians, calling on them to #stopkillingkangaroos and #endwildlifetrade:
