The Red Sands of Hattah is an account of how we have come to accept the killing of native Australian wildlife, even within natural places such as National Parks.
The precedent for the killing of kangaroos on a large scale within National Parks was set in the 1980s in Hattah-Kulkyne National Park, Victoria.
This book documents how the scientific, conservation and animal welfare movements initially came together to stop this from happening. Unfortunately, the campaign ultimately failed and kangaroos continue to be killed in their millions every year throughout Australia.
